Funeral services for Genevieve “Gen” C. Stark will be held on Saturday, November 19th, at 10:30 a.m., at the Wheatland Presbyterian Church in rural Breda with Reverend Donald Gibson officiating. Burial will be at the Wall Lake Cemetery under the direction of the Farber & Otteman Funeral Home.

Visitation will be from 5:00-7:00 p.m., Friday, Nov. 18th, at the Farber & Otteman Funeral Home in Lake View.

Genevieve “Gen” C. Stark, age 89, of Lake View, Iowa, passed away Tuesday, November 15, 2005, at Loring Hospital in Sac City.

Genevieve C. Brotherson was born on August 21, 1916, in Breda, Iowa, the daughter of George and Jessie (Weers) Brotherson. She was baptized as an infant, confirmed in 1930, and married on March 3, 1956, to Earnest Stark at Wheatland Presbyterian Church, rural Breda, where she remained a lifetime member of 75 years.

Gen graduated from Wall Lake High School in 1934 and from Fort Dodge Beauty School in 1935. She was a beautician for approximately 50 years at Logan and Council Bluffs, Iowa, retiring in 1985 when they moved to Lake View. Earnest passed away on June 22, 1994.

She enjoyed sewing, doing crafts, crocheting, cooking and fishing. She loved to go shopping with her brother, Kenny, and play with her constant companion, “Bozo” the cat.

Survivors include her brothers: Kenneth Brotherson of Lake View, Eugene (Norma) Brotherson of Sioux City, IA; sister Rowene Roth of Las Vegas, NV, and several nieces and nephews.

Gen was preceded in death by her parents; husband Earnest; and brothers: Harold, Marvin, Loyal, and Irving.
