Ruth Anna Auen

In loving memory of Ruth Anna Auen, age 85, of Sac City, formerly of Lake View, who passed away Friday, April 16, 2004, at her home in Sac City. She was the loving daughter of John and Laura (Mohr) Kaiser, born on November 15, 1918, in Herring, Iowa. Ruth graduated from rural school #5 and attended Wall Lake High School for three years. She was a member of Emmanuel Lutheran Church, baptized in Wall Lake Presbyterian Church, and confirmed Emmanuel Lutheran in Lake View, Iowa.

Ruth was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, waitress, sales clerk, and friend. She retired in 1990.

Her personal hobbies were fishing and crocheting, but her real interest was her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Special memories are to numerous to mention but you need only to ask anyone who knew her and they can tell you many stories of her kindness and love.

Survivors include her four sons: Lawrence (Pat) Auen, Ronald Auen, Larry (Mary) Auen, and Gary (Julie) Auen; her three daughters: Sandra Rench, Peggy Auen, and Debbie Auen; her brother David John Kaiser; and a sister Lorna Wunschel. She also leaves to mourn her 15 grandchildren: Charlene Estlund, Stewart Green, Pamela Sloan, Connie Radke, René Nichols, Marie Wehde, Steven Wehde, Mark Wehde, Thomas John Auen, Gabriel Auen-Simmons, Christopher Auen, Rhian Auen, Jessica Galloway, Meghan Garfield, Rachel Galloway; 12 great-grandchildren: Aaron King, Rebecca Nichols, Roger Nichols III, Robyn Nichols, Matthew Schramm, Justin Schramm, Allyson Radke, Jordan Wehde, Kara Garfield, Steven Wehde Jr., Reagon Wehde, and Sarah Wehde; extended family members, and friends.

Ruth was preceded in death by her parents; a son John Russell Auen; daughter Janice Wehde; four half sisters; a half brother, and a grandson Matthew Wehde.

Funeral serices for Ruth Anna Auen are Monday, April 19th, 11:00 a.m., at the Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Lake View with Reverend James Travis officiating, and Nancy Fertig, organist. Honorary pallbearers are the following: Justin Schramm, Thomas John Auen, Bryan Dore, Roger Nichols, III, and Stewart Green. Casketbearers include: Aaron King, Steven Wehde, Chris Auen, Matthew Schramm, Mark Wehde, and Jeff Garfield. Burial will be at the Wall Lake Cemetery under the direction of the Farber & Otteman Funeral Home. Friends who wish to send condolences may do so online.

Visitation is Sunday, April 18th, after 3:00 p.m., at the Farber & Otteman Funeral Home in Lake View.
