Marjorie was born July 15, 1915 in Odebolt, the daughter of Louie H. and Lettie R. (Waugh) Rabe. She lived in the Odebolt area her entire life. She attended country school and graduated from Odebolt High School. Marjorie’s father passed away when she was a sophomore in high school, which was a difficult time for her as the oldest child in her family. Her mother would be very important to Marjorie for her entire life. On January 27, 1934, Marjorie was united in marriage to Robert W. Buehler in South Dakota. To this union three children were born: Jeanine, Duane and Roger. Marjorie was a true matriarch of the Buehler Family. She enjoyed working with her husband on their farm, while still making a warm and comfortable home for her family as the children were growing up. Marge was a wonderful cook and baker, and an excellent seamstress, and she liked putting her skills to work in her home. She especially liked to make beautiful, intricately constructed doll garments for her grandchildren. Marge belonged to a Mother and Kids group, and enjoyed refinishing woodwork. She was the leader of the 4-H Richland Robins for many years. Marge and Robert enjoyed socializing with their farm neighbors. She and Robert also appreciated the opportunities they had to travel, and had many wonderful memories of trips with the Dennis Gustafson group, and of a special trip to Hawaii in the winter of 1975. Marjorie was a lifetime member of the Odebolt United Methodist Church, where she also belonged to the U. M. W. She was active in all activities of the church, willing to help wherever she could. Marge was a loving wife and devoted mother who delighted in her family and treasured every moment she was able to spend with her children and grandchildren. Left to cherish her memory are her daughter, Jeanine and husband William Davidson of Hudson, Iowa; her two sons: Duane and wife Donna Buehler, and Roger and wife Ellen Buehler, all of Odebolt; eight grandchildren: Pam Davidson, Judd Davidson, Karen and husband Brad Pippett, Jeff and wife Beth Buehler, Brian Buehler, Bradley, Abby and Barry Buehler ; 3 great-grandchildren: Noah and Sidney Buehler, and Tera Pippett; her sister Betty Cochrane of Naches, WA; her sisters-in-law, Mae Christian of Lake View and Mabel Buehler of Elmhurst, IL; her brother-in-law, Earl Buehler of Odebolt; and many extended family members and friends. Preceding Marjorie in death were her parents, her husband Robert on August 27, 1992; one brother, Melvin Rabe; and one sister, Vera McDonough. |
