Sharon A. Bahrenfus

Service for Sharon Bahrenfus, age 58, of Lake View, Iowa, is 2:00 p.m., Monday, September 29, 2003, at Emmanuel Lutheran Church, Lake View, with Rev. James Travis officiating. There will be congregational singing with Jim Stock, organist. The flower committee consists of Ivadell Huisenga and Gert Drost. Pallbearers include: Ron Bettin, Tom Reaman, Robert Cleveland, Bruce Stevens, Lannie Miller, and Archie Schug, with burial at Ferguson Cemetery, Lake View. Arrangements by Farber & Otteman Funeral Homes, Lake View.

Visitation is from 2:00 – 8:00 on Sunday at Farber & Otteman Funeral Home, Lake View.

Sharon A. Bahrenfus, age 58 of Lake View, IA, passed away on Thursday, September 25, 2003 at Stewart Memorial Community Hospital in Lake City, IA following a long illness with cancer.

Sharon was born November 16, 1944, at the Loring Hospital in Sac City, IA, the daughter of Byron F. and Willene (Rix) Bahrenfus. She received her education at the Lake View Elementary School and graduated from Lake View–Auburn High School in 1962. She also attended the University of Northern Iowa, Cedar Falls, IA for one year.
Sharon was the Wall Lake View Auburn High School Secretary from 1964 until retiring in 2001. After her retirement, Sharon became the assistant librarian at the Lake View Public Library.

Sharon was a member of the Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Lake View. Her church was a very important part of her life; she was baptized on December 10, 1944, and confirmed on March 29, 1958. Sharon was the Church Council secretary, VBS Teacher, Dorcas Circle member, children’s choir leader, senior choir member and leader, and LWML leader. Other hobbies that she enjoyed were: listening to music, reading, Speech and Drama, shopping and visiting with friends. She enjoyed singing in the Sac County Chords; was a Speech Judge; and was a member of the Iowa High School Speech Association.

Sharon is survived by her mother, Willene of Lake View; twin sisters: Karlene Huscher and her husband Rick of Waukee, IA and Karla Kearney of Adel, IA; two nieces: Lisa Kearney of Des Moines, IA and Megan Kearney of Adel; and her aunt, Eunice McAhren of Sac City. She was preceded in death by her father, Byron; brother-in-law, Tom Kearney; and her grandparents, Walter and Anna Bahrenfus and Paul and Elsa Rix.
