Marjorie K. Porter

Marjorie K. Porter, age 86, of Odebolt, Iowa passed away on Saturday, November 1, 2003, at the Horn Memorial Hospital in Ida Grove, Iowa.

Marjorie was born, March 13, 1917, in Odebolt the daughter of Russell S. and Inez (Briggle) Kennedy. She attended the Odebolt schools, graduating from the Odebolt High School in 1935. She was married to Paul Porter in St. Charles, Illinois.

From 1947 to 1982, Marjorie owned and operated the Photo Shop in St. Charles, Illinois. After retiring in 1982 she returned to live in Odebolt.

Marjorie was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Odebolt where she had served as a Deacon. She was also a member of the D.A.R., the Rebekah Lodge, Women’s Relief Corp., and V.F.W. Auxiliary.

She is survived by her son Steven Porter and his wife Lana of Elburn, Illinois, and her three grandchildren: Matthew, Crissy, and Chad Porter.

Marjorie was preceded in death by her parents Russell and Inez Kennedy; her sister Madeline L. Kennedy; and grandson Christopher Sean Porter.

Service for Marjorie Porter will be held Wednesday, November 5, 2003, at the First Presbyterian Church in Odebolt, IA, at 10:30 a.m. with Reverend Charles Bulger officiating. Music will be provided by Barb Votrobeck, soloist, and Carol Raasch, organist. Pallbearers include: Lester Stehr, Nolan Schnuckel, John Miller, Thad Thompson, Randy Veit, and Kenneth Sorensen. Burial will be at the Odebolt Cemetery.
