|Pazzi Ann Bohnenkamp was born on March 15, 1950 to Warren and Dorothy (Ferrin) Bohnenkamp in Carroll, Iowa. She attended Lake View Auburn Schools, graduating with the class of 1968. Pazzi earned a bachelor's degree at Drake University in music and education, and continued on to earn a double masters at The University of Texas in Austin in performing arts and theater. |
|Pazzi pursued a career as a professional singer, touring from Vancouver, British Colombia, with an opera group, and then to Los Angeles where she remained for 32 years. Pazzi had a rich and eclectic professional career, singing with the Opera for seven years, followed by a career in banking for thirteen years, and eventually working in her faith for the Catholic Diocese of Los Angeles for seven years. Towards the end of her career she worked at Mater Dolorosa Passionist Retreat Center in Sierra Madre, California, and she continued to sing as a cantor and soloist in a number of churches in the Los Angeles area.
Pazzi had a passion for music, and especially loved attending the opera in New York during the fall season. She had many talents, and enjoyed cooking, crocheting, needlepoint, doll and jewelry making, and she loved to travel. She cherished her family and dearly loved spending time with her nieces and nephews. She will be missed by many whom she knew and loved.
|Pazzi Ann Bohnenkamp left us to sing with the angels on Friday, May 25th 2012, at the age of 62, after a battle with melanoma. She passed away on the Catholic calendar feast day of Saint Mary Magdalene de Pazzi, her namesake. She passed away peacefully at the Black Hawk Care and Life Center in Lake View, Iowa.
