Donavon R. Rehm, 84, of Lake View, IA, passed away peacefully Tuesday, April 19, 2011 at Arbor Springs, W. Des Moines, Iowa.

Don was born on August 21, 1926 in Early, IA to Matilda (Lang) and Robert Rehm. In August 1950, he married Joy Carnine and together they had four children, Mari, Mike, Jeannie, and Bill. In April 1984, he married Arlene Mendenhall. He served his country in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict and farmed for many years in Sac County. Don also was a federal crop adjuster working with his fellow farmers in several states across the country. He enjoyed woodworking, hunting, cars, motorcycles, and all sorts of music. He was an avid gun collector and operated Donís Gun Shop in Sac City. Don was a member of the Lake View V.F.W. Post No. 6537, the Lake View Lions Club, and the Knights of Columbus.

Don is survived by his children: Mari (Jim) Kemis of Ames, IA, Mike (Kim) Rehm of West Des Moines, IA, Jeannie Artley of Watertown, MN, and Bill (Kim) Rehm of Lakeville, MN; brother, Ed (Mairlys) Rehm of Sac City; sisters-in-law Ruth Rehm of Wall Lake, IA and Margaret Ann Briscoe of Kansas City, KS; grandchildren Derek Rehm, Anna (Adam) Douglas, Samantha Rehm, Jason Kemis, Jack Artley, and Rebecca Rehm; great granddaughter Scarlett Douglas; many nieces and nephews and extended family members and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Arlene Rehm; sister, Helen Hartman; and brothers, Fred Rehm and Joe Rehm.
